The Practice
One craftsman, start to finish.
One standard.
JW Joinery is small on purpose. Me, a short list of trusted subcontractors, and a year of carefully scheduled work — most of it for clients who came by recommendation.
I started on the bench, the way most joiners do. What changed — and what brought me here — was a quiet decision to do fewer projects and to do them properly. To specify timber I'd live with at home. To leave a job tidier than I found it. To pick up the phone when a client calls three years later.
That's the practice. It isn't a brand. It's the way I'd want someone to work on my own home.
Four principles I hold to.
01
Patience over pace
We schedule fewer projects so that each receives our undivided attention.
02
Hand-finished work
Every joint, every brace, every soldered seam is set deliberately.
03
Specified, not sold
We recommend only what's appropriate for the home and the client.
04
Quiet aftercare
Our relationship doesn't end at handover. It begins there.
